RRC ER Apprentices Recruitment 2025: Apply Online for 3,000+ Apprentice Posts in Eastern Railway

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Eastern Railway has released the notification [RRC-ER/Act Apprentices/2025-26] for the engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates are invited to apply online for training positions across various divisions and workshops of Eastern Railway.

Division-Wise Vacancies

Howrah Division – 659 Posts

Trades include: Fitter, Welder, Electrician, Machinist, Carpenter, Lineman, Painter, Wireman, and more.

Liluah Workshop – 612 Posts

Trades include: Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Welder, Electrician, Wireman, Painter.

Sealdah Division – 440 Posts

Trades include: Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Wireman, Mason, Painter, Mechanic Diesel.

Kanchrapara Workshop – 187 Posts

Trades include: Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Carpenter, Machinist, Painter.

Malda Division – 138 Posts

Trades include: Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Mechanic Diesel, Painter, Carpenter.

Asansol Division – 412 Posts

Trades include: Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner, Mechanic Diesel.

Jamalpur Workshop – 667 Posts

Trades include: Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Diesel Mechanic.

Vacancy numbers are tentative and subject to change.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on application closing date)

• Minimum age: 15 years
• Maximum age: 24 years
• Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC-NCL: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-servicemen: As per applicable rules

Educational Qualification

• Passed 10th class under 10+2 system with minimum 50% marks
• ITI certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT

Medical Fitness

A medical fitness certificate from a government-authorized doctor is mandatory at the time of document verification. The format is available on the official RRC ER website.

Selection Process

• Merit-based (no exam/interview)
• Merit is calculated based on average of 10th and ITI marks
• In case of tie: older age preferred, followed by earlier year of passing 10th
• Final selection is for one unit and one trade only

2. Open the Apprentice notification link
3. Fill out the online application with accurate details
4. Upload required documents (photo, signature, certificates)
5. Pay the application fee (if applicable)
6. Submit the application and keep a printout for reference

Documents Required

• Passport size photograph
• Signature
• 10th mark sheet
• ITI Certificate
• Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
• PwBD certificate (if applicable)

Key Instructions

• Training does not guarantee future employment in the Railway.
• Apprentices will receive stipend as per rules.
• 20% of Level-1 posts in Group D recruitment are reserved for qualified apprentices.
• Avoid fraudulent calls, coaching centers, or agents.
