🎯 Understanding the Cut-Offs
The FRTA is based on a candidate’s aggregate performance in the Tier-II Examination. Candidates were required to qualify in Section-I and Section-II to be eligible for the evaluation of Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test) and Section-IV (Data Entry Speed Test).
Here are the cut-off marks you need to know:
1. Cut-off Marks for Section-I and Section-II
- UR (Unreserved): 54.00000 in Section-I and 63.00000 in Section-II.
- OBC & EWS: 45.00000 in Section-I and 52.50000 in Section-II.
- SC, ST, ESM, OH, HH, VH, and PwD Others: 36.00000 in Section-I and 42.00000 in Section-II.
2. Cut-off for Computer Knowledge Test (CKT) – Section-III

- SC, ST, and all other categories: 18 marks.
3. Cut-off for Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) – Section-IV
For posts requiring both CPT and DEST, the maximum allowed percentage of mistakes is:
- UR: 5% mistakes allowed.
- OBC, EWS, SC, ST, & ESM: 7% mistakes allowed.
- OH, HH, VH, & PWD-Others: 10% mistakes allowed.
🔄 The New “Sliding Mechanism” (Action Required!)
One of the biggest updates in this notification is the introduction of a Sliding Mechanism.
What is it? This mechanism is designed to ensure the maximum filling of vacancies, provide fair opportunities, and minimize unfilled seats caused by candidates who are absent or choose not to join. It establishes a single round of reallocation for unutilized vacancies.
What do you need to do?
- Choose Your Slot: Candidates must log into the designated module on the SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in/) between 8th April 2026 and 10th April 2026 to choose their venue, date, and slot for the sliding process.
- Attend the Process: The physical sliding process will happen from 13th to 22nd April 2026 for the Northern Region and from 13th to 18th April 2026 for all other Regional Offices.
- Important Warning: If a candidate fails to attend the sliding process physically, they will be treated as absent and will not be considered for the final result.
⚖️ How Tie Cases Were Resolved
In situations where candidates scored identical marks in the Tier-II Examination, the SSC resolved the ties by applying the following criteria in this exact order:
- Marks scored in Paper-II of Tier-II (specifically for Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Gr. II posts).
- Marks scored in Section-I of Paper-I of the Tier-II Examination.
- Date of birth (the older candidate is placed higher).
- Alphabetical order of the candidates’ names.
📝 A Few Final Notes
- Withheld & Debarred Candidates: The results of 8 debarred candidates were not processed, and the results of 107 candidates have been kept withheld for various reasons.
- Answer Keys: The SSC noted that candidate representations regarding the Tier-II Answer Keys were carefully examined, modifications were made where necessary, and final answer keys were used for evaluation. These final keys and detailed marks will be uploaded to the SSC website in due course.
If you are one of the 15,118 provisionally shortlisted candidates, congratulations! Make sure to log into the SSC portal immediately to secure your sliding process slot before the April 10th deadline.
